Kansas (18-5) is coming off a tough away loss to 4th ranked Missouri and now there is a 3-way tie for the Big 12 lead with Kansas, Missouri, and Baylor all at 8-2 in conference play. The Jayhawks have now lost 2 of their last 3 games and in this game face a Baylor squad that has a solid defense and features 6’11” F Perry Jones III, who lead the Bears in scoring and rebounding. Baylor may have a little payback in mind, as when they hosted the Jayhawks last season Kansas crushed them by 20 points.

In their last games Baylor was on the road and beat Oklahoma State 64-60 and Kansas was also on the road, but lost to Missouri 74-71.

This season Kansas is 11-10-1 and they have an O/U record of 7-14 and Baylor is 7-9 ATS with an O/U record of 9-7.

Perry Jones III (14.8 ppg 7.9 rpg) leads the Bears and their 2nd leading scorer is speedy 5’10” G Pierre Jackson (12.7 ppg). The Jayhawks must keep Jackson from penetrating into the lane and dishing out the rock. It is also key that they make Jones III take tough shots and not easy ones close to the bucket.

Kansas looked to have the Mizzou game in the bag, but they allowed the Tigers to score the last 11 points in the game to lose by 3. The Jayhawks shot the rock well in that game with a FG% of 53.6%, but they turned the ball over 15 times and they cannot do that in this game.

Jones III not only has to play well on offense, but on defense as well facing F Thomas Robinson (18 ppg 12 rpg), who had 25 points and 13 boards against Mizzou.

Senior G Tyshawn Taylor (16.9 ppg) is Kansas’ 2nd leading scorer and he has been playing well on offense, but he has to avoid the turnover against Baylor.

Both of these teams rank pretty even in scoring and rebounding and each ranks in the top 20 in the nation in team FG%. That is why defense will be vital in this game, especially in the paint. The Bears have been playing great D in their 4 game winning streak only giving up an average of 64 ppg.

In some betting trends for this Big 12 match up Kansas is 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 games, 1-2-1 ATS in their last 4 road games, and they have an Under record of 6-3-1 in their last 10 games.

Baylor is 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games, 2-2 ATS in their last 4 home games, and they have an Over record of 6-4 in their last 10 games.
